Jane's inspiration comes from her own household of animals and when she was growing up the family cat had it's own place at the table…
She is particuarly well known for her portrayal of the cat in all its guises and for her English Bull Terriers.
Jane works from her studio in the garden behind her Gallery in St Just and is continually developing and expanding her range of pieces.
She uses a crank stoneware clay and fires in an electric kiln to 1200oC making the pieces frost proof and suitable for use outside.
It is important to realise that all the pieces are individually made by Jane and one of the features of handmade pieces is that each may vary slightly in size, colour and glazing. These variations will be kept to a minimum and should not be viewed as faults but as an attribute of handmade ceramics.
